The seminar was held at the Pôle universitaire FHB in Bingerville from 18 to 19 June 2025, and was attended by doctoral and post-doctoral students, guests and addiction specialists from Côte d'Ivoire.

Addiction to tobacco, alcohol and drugs is a major public health problem in Côte d'Ivoire. The government and various organisations are taking action to combat these addictions, notably through prevention, care and harm reduction programmes. The scientific community, in particular IPORA, through its Workpackage 8 (WP8), is also committed to this fight.

This seminar saw exchanges between disciplines (psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, sociologist, infectiologist, economist, legal expert and criminal investigation department) on various themes linked to the fight against addiction. By combining their efforts, these experts aim to :

  • Contribute to the resolution of certain problems relating to addiction.
  • Identify the non-medical aspects of addictive behaviour in the community.
  • Encourage research projects in the field or field of addiction to psychoactive or behavioural substances, or make recommendations for the community.
